The Special Investigation Service held regional meetings with the support of the Council of Europe

Head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze and his deputies held the regional working meetings with the local representatives of the law enforcement agencies, non-governmental organizations, the social workers of the agency for State Care and Assistance for the (Statutory) Victims of Human trafficking, the regional Resource Officers of the educational institutions and the regional representatives of the public defender throughout Georgia.
Regional meetings were held within the framework of the Council of Europe project – “Human Rights Compliant Policing in Georgia (HRCPG)". The cycle of awareness rising meetings started from Batumi and continued in Zugdidi, Kutaisi and Telavi.
The purpose of the meeting is to raise awareness among the target groups about the mandate, the notification and complaint mechanism of the Special Investigation Service.
Natia Songhulashvili, the deputy head of the special investigation service, presented and discussed the first quarterly report, also, the current and planned activities, trends in the investigative direction, local needs and future cooperation.
At the meeting, based on the mandate of the Special Investigation Service, the local actual issues were discussed.
