Statement of the Special Investigation Service

The Special Investigation Service (SIS) forwarded the criminal case to the court for consideration against N.G accused of committing violence against Mikheil Mshvildadze, the founder of the "Formula" TV company, on June 27, 2023, on Vazha-Pshavela Avenue.

Throughout the investigation, all possible versions of the investigation were verified with the active involvement of the victim. For that purpose, numerous investigative and procedural actions were conducted including an inspection of the incident scene and its surroundings. During this process, based on court orders, numerous video recordings from 23 private companies and public institutions were identified and obtained. To improve the quality of some video evidence, a habitoscopic examination was conducted at the LEPL "Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau." Additionally, 21 witnesses were interviewed and the four personal mobile phones were urgently seized during a residential property search. Secret and non-secret documents and crucial materials were requested from public agencies. However, these did not provide sufficient evidence to establish the guilt of another individual(s).

Throughout the investigation, the Special Investigation Service (SIS) constantly ensured the participation of the victim and his legal representative in the process.

The victim and his legal representative were introduced to all the case materials/documents on seven occasions.

As it’s known to the public, N.G. was arrested on June 28, 2023, as an accused in this case. He was charged under the first part of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (violence) and the court imposed imprisonment as a preventive measure.
