Meeting of the technical committee of the project - „Implementation of the criminal justice reforms”

On March 30, the meeting was held by the technical committee of the project – “Implementation of the criminal justice reforms.”

 

The project is being implemented with the support of the “EU for Georgia” and the Council of Europe.

 

The head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze, and his deputies, Giorgi Kvaratskhelia and Natia Songhulahsvili, participated in the meeting.

 

Koka Katsitadze discussed the basic principles of the independent investigative authority, the reforms to be implemented, future plans and the issue of close cooperation with the partner organizations.

 

At the meeting, special attention was drawn to the issue of improvement the legal status of the victim citizens. The issue of implementing concrete measures for crime prevention was also highlighted.

 

The meeting of the committee was attended by the representatives of the Council of Europe Directorate General Human Rights and Rule of Law – Mahyr Mushtaidzada and Clemens Bukmon de Costa, Team leader of the European Commission Delegation to Georgia - Agatha Naibo, Senior Officers of the Council of Europe project – Ucha Bakhtadze and Giorgi Giorgadze and the head of the administration of the Special Investigation Service – Sophio Chareli.
