Koka Katsitadze hosted the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Special Investigation Service

 

The Head of the Special Investigation Service Koka Katsitadze, together with his deputies - Giorgi Kvaratskhelia and Natia Songulashvili, held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Georgia H.E Anne Toft Sørensen.

 

The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the ongoing activities of the Service as well as to discuss the prospects of future cooperation.

 

During the introductory meeting, the parties considered the steps to be taken to further grow and expand the bilateral relations between the countries in regards to the investigation area.

 

The Head of the Independent Investigation Service introduced the competences, main goals, directions and reforms carried out by the Service.

 

Koka Katsitadze affirmed his readiness to develop and strengthen relations with the counterpart institution -  The Police Complaints Authority in Denmark. Discussed the development of cooperation in specific directions, including the possibility of exchanging working visits for the educational purposes of investigators.

 

He emphasized the importance of the document supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark -"Strategic framework: Denmark's partnership with the Eastern Neighborhood countries 2022-26", in which one of the sub-direction concerns strengthening democratic institutions.

 

The Head of the Special Investigation Service also outlined the issue of joining the Independent Police Complaints Authorities' Network (IPCAN), as well as the Internal Criminal Investigations Network (ICIN).

 

At the end of our conversation, Koka Katsitadze once again thanked the Ambassador for the meeting and for the expressed readiness of cooperation.

 

The meeting was also attended by the representative of International Relations Department Ana Kutateladze.
