Head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze and his deputies Giorgi Kvaratskhelia and Natia Songhulashvili met with Director of the Legal Aid Service, Rajden Kuprashvili

 Head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze and his deputies Giorgi Kvaratskhelia and Natia Songhulashvili met with Director of the Legal Aid Service, Rajden Kuprashvili.

 At the meeting, which was held at the Special Investigation Service, the parties discussed an important initiative on the issue of improving the legal status of the affected citizens. In particular, the issue of appointing a mandatory lawyer in cases of ill-treatment for the affected citizens at the expense of the state.

 The parties agreed that the Special Investigation Service will work actively with the Legal Aid Service to prepare a legislative package in the shortest possible time and to strengthen the right of the affected citizens to be represented by a lawyer through the law of Georgia.
"The announced policy of the Special Investigation Service is to improve the legal situation of the affected citizens from the day of its creation. At today's meeting, we learned from the Legal Service a very good initiative regarding the possibility of appointing a lawyer for victims of ill-treatment at the expense of the state. The meeting agreed that both services will actively cooperate to adopt this initiative as a law, “said Koka Katsitadze, Head of the Special Investigation Service.

"We talked about the future legislative initiative that will provide free legal aid to victims of ill-treatment and agreed that the preparation of the draft law will be carried out jointly. We also plan to implement joint activities and future projects to raise legal awareness of our citizens, “said Rajden Kuprashvili, Director of the Legal Aid Service.
