The Special Investigation Service arrested employee of the Border Police on the fact of Threat

The Special Investigation Service arrested an employee of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for allegedly threatening the health of his ex-wife.

The investigation established that the accused expressed aggression towards his wife on the grounds of jealousy, asked her to quit the job, and verbally insulted her. Due to the ongoing conflict, the victim divorced the accused. Nevertheless, on July 24, 2024, at night, in the village of Tsikhisdziri, Kobuleti municipality, the law enforcement officer chased his ex-wife by car and demanded from her to stop the car. Once he approached the victim in the car, he threatened her to tear off the piercing and harm her health, which made the victim fearful that he would eventually carry out the threat.

Based on the female victim’s report, the Special Investigation Service promptly launched the investigation and carried out urgent investigative and procedural actions. In particular, the victim, members of the victim's family, and other persons in connection with the criminal case were interviewed, an investigative experiment was conducted, and other evidence revealing the crime was obtained, after which the law enforcement officer was arrested based on the court's decision.

The Special Investigation Service continues the investigation of the case under Article 111, 151 (2d) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

The law enforcement officer will be charged within the time established by law.

Crime envisages imprisonment for up to 3 years.
