The Special Investigation Service arrested officersof the Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA)
As a result of investigative and procedural actions carried out by the Special Investigation Service in Kutaisi and Kakheti twoofficers of the Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) were arrested.
The officer of the Imereti-Guria Division of the Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA),V.P. was exposed for the crime. On December 26, 2022, he verbally and physically assaulted the minor child in presence of another minor child. Also, the accused person threatened his wife and son to kill them by using a weapon.
The victim applied to the Special Investigation Service and later onthe officer of the Security Police Department was arrested as a result of the operational and investigative actions carried out by SIS in the shortest period of time.
The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia charged the aforementioned person under Article 126', part 2, paragraphs "a" and "b" and Article 151, Part 2, paragraphs "c" and "d" of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Sucha crime ispunished with 1-3 years of imprisonment.
On January 3, 2023, the Special Investigation Service arrested G. Sh., a junior inspector of the Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), who on January 02had a verbal conflict with R.Twhile both were visiting one of the families in Chiauri village of the Lagodekhi region. After that G.Sh inflicted serious harm on the victim by stabbing him in the abdomen.
The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia charged the aforementioned person under Article 117, part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The crime shall be punishable by imprisonment for a term of four to seven years.
The court imposed imprisonment on both defendants.
The Special Investigation Service continues to investigate the above-mentioned cases.
