Statement of the Special Investigation Service on the summoning of Luka Shvelidze to the investigative body

On June 18, 2023, the Special Investigation Service (SIS) received a report concerning an incident that occurred on June 17 and spread through social media. The report stated that a drunk police officer threatened Luka Shvelidze with a weapon in the clinic's ward. Upon receiving this report, the SIS immediately launched an investigation into the fact yesterday.

In particular, on June 18 the SIS’s investigator promptly contacted the author of this report - Luka Shvelidze's mother and requested an interview on the incident.

Additionally, on June 18 the investigator also held a phone communication with Luka Shvelidze and offered an interview at a time convenient for him. Luka Shvelidze explained he would visit the SIS on June 20, 2023.
