Koka Katsitadze hosted the newly appointed Ambassador of Belgium to the Special Investigation Service

 

The Head of the Special Investigation Service Koka Katsitadze, with his deputies - Giorgi Kvaratskhelia and Natia Songulashvili, held an introductory meeting with H.E Michel Petermans, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Georgia. Koka Katsitadze congratulated H.E Michel Petermans on his new position and wished him success in his professional activity.

 

During the introductory meeting, the issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The Head of the Independent Investigation Service introduced the mandate, main goals, directions, and reforms carried out by the Service. He also affirmed his readiness to further strengthen relations with the counterpart institution - the Belgian Police Monitoring Standing Committee (Standing Committee P) and share their years of experience.

 

Committee P is an independent and neutral body that assists the legislative body (parliament) in overseeing the activities of the executive bodies. Committee P acts as an external body, with respect to both the executive and the police, and is responsible for monitoring the overall working of the police and policing by all officials.

 

At the end of the meeting, Koka Katsitadze thanked Ambassador H.E Michel Petermans for the meeting, support, and fruitful discussion.

 

Natia Pirashvili, the Head of the International Relations Department and the representative of this Department Ana Kutateladze attended the meeting.
