The Head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze, and his deputies, Natia Songhulashvili and Giorgi Kvaratskhelia, met with the managers of the project -“The Human Rights Compliant Policing in Georgia”

The head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze, and his deputies, Natia Songhulashvili and Giorgi Kvaratskhelia, met with the managers of the project -“The Human Rights Compliant Policing in Georgia”

 

At the meeting, the issue of mutual cooperation was discussed.

 

The head of the independent investigative authority discussed the main aspects of the job, the reforms to be implemented and the importance of cooperation.

 

Koka Katsitadze introduced the participants of the meeting the vision of the future development of the Service and the main challenges faced by it.

 

The issue of institutional strengthening of the service was highlighted.

 

Along with the issue of increased functions of the Service, special attention was drawn to the plan of the Special Investigation Service aimed at improving the legal status of the victim citizens. The issue of taking concrete measures for crime prevention was also highlighted.

 

At the meeting, the managers of the Council of Europe project expressed their readiness for close cooperation with the Special Investigation Service.

 

The meeting held at the Special Investigation Service was attended by the Head of the Section at Council of Europe - Donche Boshkovski, Project Coordinator- Kelly Sipp, Senior Project Officer –Eter Kamarauli and the Head of the Administration of the Special Investigation Service – Sophio Chareli.
