The Deputy Head of the Special Investigation Service held a meeting with the Executive Director of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information, Giorgi Kldiashvili

The Deputy Head informed the participants of the meeting on the structure of the independent investigative body, the main directions of the activities and the vision for the development of the service. The issue of increasing the independence of the service was also stressed.

Natia Songhulashvili focused on the planned activities for the development of the Special Investigation Service and highlighted the important aspects. In particular, ensuring the timely conduct of the investigation, the establishment of an investigation quality monitoring service and close communication with human rights defenders. The Deputy Head said the service development plan envisages improving the legal status of affected citizens and taking the concrete steps to prevent crime.

The meeting also touched upon the initiative to establish the Official Crime Prevention Council, which will be aimed at reducing official crime.
Natia Songhulashvili focused on the significance of active communication and close cooperation with human rights organizations is essential in this process.
"Close cooperation with human rights organizations remains a priority for the Special Investigation Service. Today we have met with the Executive Director of the Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information. We discussed the challenges facing the service and the plans that we are going to implement, "said the Deputy Head of the Special Investigation Service.

Representatives of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information expressed readiness for future cooperation.

The plans of this service will be beneficial for our country and this direction, especially the new functions acquired by the service, is valuable for our society and the country, "said the Executive Director of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information, Giorgi Kldiashvili.
